Who is Daitem?
Daitem, the inventor of the wireless alarm, celebrated 30 years of experience in 2007. Founded in 1977 near Grenoble, the company employs 650 people and has over 600,000 security systems installed across Europe.

Who should I contact to have a Daitem system installed?
Working side by side with security professionals, Daitem has set up a network of installers. Selected and trained by Daitem, these independent specialists are ready to install your system in many countries across Europe. Wherever you happen to be, you can count on their expertise and total commitment when it comes to ensuring your security and comfort.

Does a Daitem alarm system have insurance company approval?
The main products in the DAITEM range are recognised by insurance companies. Insurance approval is granted by the CNPP, the French professional centre for prevention and protection. This authority certifies that approved equipment and systems meet the reliability requirements defined in applicable standards. It is an additional guarantee that you are making the right choice.

Is the alarm system guaranteed?
To benefit from a free 5-year alarm system guarantee (instead of a 2-year guarantee), simply fill in and return the guarantee certificate to Daitem within the 10 days following installation.

Why choose a wireless alarm system?
Among the many advantages of Daitem’s entirely wire-free system, some of the following can be underlined:
• efficiency: each device is autonomous and can be installed in the most strategic location,
• installation does not involve any damage to your interior design (no wires),
• the system is installed quickly,
• your system can go with you if you move house,
• your system can be extended in the future.
On top of these advantages, the Daitem remote keyfob makes system use simple and safe for adults and children alike.

Can the radio transmissions be interfered with?
The radio protocol and frequencies used are specifically allocated to digital transmissions. With the TwinPass® dual radio transmission technology, if one frequency experiences interference, the other frequency continues to transmit. Radio transmission cannot therefore be jammed. Similarly, TwinPass® detects and reports any attempt to tamper with the system.

How is the system powered?
By the lithium thionyl chloride batteries supplied with each device. There is no connection to the mains supply hence protecting the system against lightning and power supply disturbance.

How long do the batteries last?
The Lithium batteries supplied with each device last for 5 years in normal conditions of household use. Furthermore, the system continuously monitors the state of its batteries providing early indication when their charge is low.

Can my system be sabotaged?
As well as benefiting from armoured covers, the Daitem system boasts anti-tamper protection against possible attacks: attempts to open or remove device casings, cut antennas, interfere with the radio frequencies, crack the codes, etc. We have taken all the necessary precautions and if, in spite of everything, an intruder does attempt to sabotage a device, an alert is immediately triggered. As the alert and deterrent devices are strategically located throughout your home, they cannot be sabotaged before the alarm is activated. Yet another entirely “wire-free” advantage of the Daitem system.

What precautions should be taken against burglary?
When you are at home:

- Do not leave doors and windows open for no reason.
- Keep the gate, the garage door and the door between the garage and the home closed.
- Arm your system in Part Set or Stay/Presence ON mode if possible.

When you go out:
- Close all doors and windows.
- Do not close all the outside shutters (this tells would-be intruders you are going away for a while).
- Draw the curtains in rooms that can be seen from the outside (living room, bedrooms, etc.) and do not leave any precious objects in full view.
- Do not hide your keys close to the main door (in a flower pot, under the mat, on the window sill, in the letter box, etc.).
- Switch your system to Total Arm mode.

When you go on holiday:
- Check that all entrance points, especially the most accessible ones, are closed.
- Ask the post office or a neighbour to keep your post and make sure that brochures do not pile up in your letter box.
- Do not mention you are going away on your answering machine.
- Check your security system is operating properly by really testing whether it triggers the alarms.
- Switch your security system to Total Arm mode.

Is there a user guide?
Yes, there is clear and precise documentation about how the Daitem system works, as well as a quick user guide designed for everyday use. Please feel free to contact us for any additional requests.

Can the system be operated from outside my home?
Yes, this is one of the advantages of the Daitem entirely wire-free system. You can operate your system using a portable remote control device or a wall-mounted keypad. All your detectors can be set for immediate activation, conferring an even greater deterrence effect on your alarm system.

Once my system has been installed, how do I use it?
All you have to do is to arm the intrusion protection system, as often as possible for increased security. It’s very simple and safe, using the Daitem remote keyfob or keypad. Fire and personal protection is activated 24 hours a day.

So, what do I do when I leave the house?
Simply press on “Total Arm”. The control panel responds with a vocal and visual message. You then have 90 seconds to leave your home before the intrusion protection system is fully activated. A new message will tell you when it is activated.

What happens if I leave my cat or dog inside?
The special pet-tolerant detector can tell the difference between a human being and an animal (cat, dog, etc.). It will only trigger an alarm if it detects the former. If you do not have this type of detector, you can only protect part of your home while your pet can stay in the area that is not being monitored.

What about when I come back home?
Simply press the “OFF” button on your remote control device or enter your secret code on the keypad. The control panel issues a vocal and visual indication that the intrusion system has been disarmed. Pressing the “OFF” button also puts a stop to any alarms that have been triggered (sirens, dialler, etc.).

Can I be protected even when I’m at home?
You can arm the DAITEM alarm when you’re at home. At night, for example, before you go to sleep, you can activate the Stay/Presence ON mode. If intrusion occurs, you will be warned by a discreet audible signal; you can then activate the alarm sirens to frighten the intruder away, or call for assistance by phone, or both.

Can the alarm be controlled remotely?
If you’re far away from home when you realise you have forgotten to the set the alarm, simply call your system from any phone and use your secret code to arm protection. Similarly, you can switch on an electrical appliance, heating or lighting in the same way.

How can I prevent false alarms?
You may be distracted or in a rush when you enter your home and forget to disarm the system. Don’t worry, with the Daitem alarm you’re allowed to make mistakes. The system’s “Warning” function (discreet control panel siren sounding for 6 seconds) and the progressive triggering of deterrents will give you enough time to realise what you have done and put it right. This means that the sirens will not sound full blast and your neighbours will not be disturbed.
